In the past week Patrick has gone from being able to stand unassisted for a few seconds, to being able to stand unassisted indeffinately, and even take a few steps. (his "record" right now is 4 steps in a row before falling). I also scheduled his 12-month well-child check-up. Where did my little snuggly baby burrito go??
My IL's got DH and I a digital photo frame for Christmas, and I put a bunch of Patrick's early pictures on it. I miss his newbory flaky skin, and the receding hairline he had after I'd brushed his hair backwards over and over again to get rid of his cradle cap, and the little white fuzzy burrito that used to doze off in the bouncy seat.
He's our last little baby, and I just can't believe that his baby stage is flying by so quickly. :_(
Tomorrow I get to volunteer in Raia's classroom! It'll be a regular thing, every Tues. and Wed. til the end of the year. I'll be doing one-on-one reading time with the kids for an hour. I used to do this in my mom's classroom when she would teach summer school, so I'm not too nervous about it. My friend Jen (the one I went to Portland with) will watch Patrick for me, and Errol will be at school. I'm so excited to finally get to see what Raia does at school all day. She'd doesn't do the best job at giving me a recap when she comes home.
(in fact, when she came home from her very first day of Kindergarten her response to my "so what did you do at school?" question was: "nothing" She's 5 going on 15 LOL)
