So it rains here in the NorthWest. A lot. Like, a WHOLE lot. Enough-that-we-have-temperate-rainforests a lot.
But not today! Today was gorgeous, warm, and SUNNY!! Sure, there were some ominous-looking rain clouds, but they were all talk and no show(er), so the kids got to spend a much-needed day in the sun.
I pulled out the water table from the garage over the weekend, and today Errol and Patrick took turns drenching eachother with the water. I had to refill it a couple of times, and change outfits. Eventually they just ended up in their swimsuits.
My favorite part of the day though, was during Patrick's nap. Raia and Errol started playing with their t-ball set, while I laid down on our backyard swing (one of those big, adult ones with comfy cushions and an adjustable awning. The kids took turns, 4-hits-at-the-ball each, and whoever wasn't "up to bat" sat on me and munched on a bag of baby carrots. Back and forth they went, some times "hitting it out of the ballpark" (so to speak), sometimes hitting the T instead. But they had fun. They got tanned. And we all got some much needed Vitamin D.
It was a beautiful day. :)
