Disorderly

We're shifting things around in our house this week. George took yesturday and today off work to help. We bunked Raia and Errol's beds, assembled a shelf that held buckets for their toys (and not all of the toys made it to their new home ;) got a new computer desk for our bedroom, and we're still planning to move the love seat (which doesn't match our couch) out to the garage, get it cleaned up, then post it and the couch it maches (which has been in our garage for months) on Craigslist. With the loveseat out we'll move our bookshelves out of our bedroom and into the livingroom, and the recliner that's in Patrick's room might be moving in there too. We moved our LoveSac into the kids' room to make room for the new computer desk. The kitchen is the only room that's remained untouched. LOL

A less labor-intensive activity of our day was taking the kids to try out the new park at the lake. They've been watching it go up bit by bit for the past few weeks, waiting for the temporary orange fence to come down. The old park was ripped out while we were in California (it was almost 20 years old and in very poor condition) and a new, park for "varying abilities" was put in. It's got ramps, slides, things that spin (LOTS of them), things that swing, tunnels, a "mountain" to climb, a rocking race car, and a bunch of other fun stuff. It's designed for kids of all different abilities. Kids in wheel chairs and walkers can go up the ramps to the slides, some of the swings are designed for older kids who don't have the muscle strength to sit up on their own, and some swing in a way that's very soothing. I've seen similar swings at the kids' preschool, since it's also designed to meet the needs of toddlers with special needs. Raia sat in the "big baby swing" (the swing that's for older kids that has a large harness) and said "it's like a roller coaster swing!" because the harness did indeed look like the harness you wear on a roller coaster. :) It is a FUN park though, and I'm super excited that it's open!
