Pulling Up Roots

Along with all the crazy physical stuff that's been going on around here, there's also been some emotional stuff going on. You don't live somewhere for 10 years without putting down some roots. And now we have to start pulling them up.

First was telling our ward family that we were leaving. Raia's Activity Day Girls group hosted a "talent night" (Raia did jumping rope on one foot, and baked a german chocolate cake with a friend as her "talent". she was so proud!) and we told some people then. George's Home Teaching families were especially distraught. One of them he's been teaching from probably the whole ten years we've been here! This ward has truly been "family" for us. Leaving them is probably going to be THE hardest part of this move.

After that there was telling the people at George's work.

This week it's been telling my dance instructor that I'll be dropping out of the bellydance class, and the gym owner that I won't be teaching Flirty Girl Fitness at her gym any more. I'm going to miss those classes like crazy!

Each root that's pulled up has it's own unique little ache to it. Regret and sadness at leaving behind the old mingle with the excitement of moving on to the new.

We're in the process of being transplanted, and, for better or worse, that's always a painful event.
